New Year, New Challenges

The new year was off to a rough start. I got a cold, Brian got a cough, and Giada got RSV. It was definitely scary to have a sick baby. I was back at work for 2 days before taking off for 6 with Giada. She was a trooper and after a few sleepless nights (because Giada could only sleep on my chest) we made it through!
It was a hard, long week. Being a working mom is more challenging than I ever imagined. I am so thankful that Giada gets to spend her days with her mamaw (and some days with her cousin, Tyler) but I miss her so much and hate that I only get a few hours each night with her. We are all learning to make adjustments and my time is more valuable than ever.
Giada is enjoying food so much more now. Peaches are her FAVORITE food! She loves all fruit and is pretty picky with her vegys. She likes sweet potatoes and green beans and she will tolerate squash if she gets it along with a fruit. She absolutely will not eat peas. They make her gag (she is just like her Daddy).
She can roll over both belly to back and back to belly, but doesn't roll all the time. She is more focused on learning to sit up. She is still wobbly, but LOVES sitting up. She is also developing a bit of a temper (I know what you're thinking...not my child). She squeals, which is a cute way of saying she screams. We love it and think it is adorable, but something tells me it won't be as cute a year from now. Ha! We are still waiting on that first tooth.
The past 6 months have flown by and I don't think time will slow down any time soon. I'm counting down the days til spring break so I can have a whole week at home with Giada. And summers will be even sweeter!

Breathing treatment due to RSV.

Squealing!

Talking & playing music.

PEACHES!

Love these 3!

Giada LOVES bath time! She has almost outgrown the sink.

6 months old! So big.

Christmas

Giada first Christmas was wonderful. We spent Christmas Eve at my dad's house. Brian built a gingerbread house with our nieces with Papaw's help, too. Nana baked some goodies while we all waited on baby Beckett to arrive. He came straight to Nana & Papaw's from the hospital, 2 days old and ready for Christmas. Our family has grown so much.
Giada is a good sleeper and I think this is the first and only year Santa got to come to our house so early! :-)  Christmas morning we started our own traditions as a family. We woke up and opened presents and got to relax and play with Giada's new toys. Around lunch time we headed to my mom's for more Christmas excitement.

She was more excited than this photo shows. I LOVE that we captured this hilarious face!
