Giada is TWO!

Last week my incredible husband turned 30! I surprised him with a fabulous birthday dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, complete with friends, family, and even a few out of town fraternity brothers. He was very surprised. Six months of planning and coordinating schedules paid off. It was a great weekend!
Five days after Brian's birthday is Giada's birthday. Our incredible daughter is now 2! She loves to sing and dance. Some of her favorite songs are "Let it Go", "Our Time", "Old McDonald Had a Farm", "Allie-Allie-O", and "Jesus Loves Me". She is talking in 2-5 word sentences. Her vocabulary amazes us daily. She also loves to read. She loves to sit on Mommy's and Daddy's lap and read, as well as sit down and open a familiar book and read by herself. Some of her favorite books are Bad Dog Marley, Duck on a Bike, Pout-Pout Fish, Cool Dog, School Dog, and many more!
Giada spent her birthday at the zoo with her Mommy, Mamaw, and cousin Tyler. She loves to see the "animals at the zoo". Feeding the giraffes has become her favorite zoo activity. She also likes the peacocks, which has forced her mommy to be brave when one is near.
Giada and I have had a wonderful summer together. She enjoys swimming, but the fun only lasts about an hour. The sprinkler is a big water favorite as well as her water table. Fruit is her all time favorite food:  strawberries, blueberries, grapes, apples, peaches, blackberries "from Papaw's garden". She is very much like her Daddy in that she also LOVES to eat cheese. She is a great eater; she won't eat anything, but she is far from picky.
Two weeks ago was the county fair. We spent one evening there looking at all the animals. Giada loved seeing all the cows, but wanted to keep her distance. She wasn't too thrilled when Mommy walked up to her Great-Uncle Jim's cows and started petting them. However, if you ask her she will tell you that she pet a cow. She really got to pet a sheep. We also saw pigs, goats, bunnies, hens, ducks, roosters, geese, lamas, and horses. She also pet a horse, which she didn't enjoy as much as her mommy and daddy thought she would.
It is hard to believe that I have to go back to work in less than a week. I do love teaching, but I love being Giada's Mommy so much more. And with teaching yet another grade level I am not looking forward to all the extra planning.
"SURPRISE!"
Blue or Pink? Only a few more days to guess. Will Giada have a baby brother or another baby sister? Mommy and Daddy have different guesses. Mommy was wrong the first two times and Daddy was right the first two times, so we'll see...
