Cereal, Vegys, & Rolling Over!

We started Giada on rice cereal. She is getting one "meal" a day at breakfast. She wasn't too thrilled at first, but by day 4 she was opening her mouth to eat some bites. After 8 days of rice cereal we started vegetables. First up:  sweet potatoes! She wasn't more excited about them. She didn't refuse them or spit them up, but she just isn't too excited about "food" yet. She eats about a tablespoon of food. We have a few more vegys to try this month (carrots, green beans, peas) before starting fruits next month (apples, bananas, peaches).
Last weekend we made another trip to Valparaiso for Christmas. Giada is so blessed to have so many family members that love her. She got so many things - toys, diapers, and my favorite gift for her:  a high chair/booster seat. We used it this morning and it made eating so much easier for her and for me. It is perfect for our counter height kitchen table.
While in Valpo, Giada rolled over for the first time! Saturday morning after her breakfast we were playing in Grandma Debbie's living room. Giada was enjoying tummy time and rolled over from her belly to her back. Brian and I were both right there to see it and of course cheered for her!
I started signing with Giada when she was about 2 months old. We started with the sign for "milk". Now, at 4 months old, she knows the sign. She can't sign yet, but she understands when I sign milk and what that means. Now that we've started baby food we are working on the sign for "more" and "all finished".

Giada got this teddy bear from her Great Aunt Judy & Great Uncle Dave. She LOVES it. I had one just like it when I was a baby so it was pretty special to see her get it and play with it.
