I have to say that becoming a parent has proved to be the "job" that has the greatest learning curve...at least for me. Giada has hit a growth spurt this week, so she is feeding more frequently. Sometimes every hour. We have started a new evening routine where I pump then lay down about 9:00 and Brian does the late night feeding between 10-10:30. This has been a huge help to me, allowing me to get a little more sleep. Plus it gives Brian some one-on-one Daddy/daughter bonding time. Last night was AMAZING! I went to bed about 9, Brian fed Giada at 10:20, and she didn't wake up til 1:30! That was just for a quick (5 min.) diaper change and she fell back asleep when I was snapping her onesie. That had never happened so I almost didn't know what to do. Haha! I laid her back down and she slept til 2:45, when she woke up ready to eat! I feel like a brand new person. I can not tell you how good/rejuvenated I feel after getting a long stretch of sleep. Now the hard part of not expecting her to sleep that long every night. :-) But if she can start going longer and falling into a routine it will be incredible!
We had our first big outing this week. We went to the Back to School Bash at my school. We got to show Giada off to my co-workers and students. Speaking of my school - I have been moved to now teach kindergarten. That should make going back to work in January even more interesting. Oh well...God is teaching me many lessons in going with the flow, to just let go and let God.
We (Giada, Wrigley, and I) have started walking again! Wrigley walks by the stroller like a champ! He has done such a good job adjusting to being a big brother and sharing the attention. He is such an amazing dog! At my 2 week check-up I had lost all but 3 pounds of my pregnancy weight! I can't wait to get back into yoga to tone back up.
